What you’ll learn & achieve:

Under minimal supervision, the Senior Sales Executive is primarily responsible for expanding existing accounts within new markets and growing client base within an established territory. Less than 20% of target will include new account acquisition. Using in-depth knowledge, this position sells UL’s products, systems, and/or services to clients in an assigned territory, industry, or accounts.

  • Using in-depth knowledge promotes and sells a portfolio of services to existing accounts not managed by account management teams within new markets and grows clients base within an established territory.
  • Identifies new accounts within assigned territory to promote and sell a portfolio of services directly to new clients within new markets.
  • Utilizes CRM to create, monitor and revise lead generation plans to ensure a substantive sales pipeline focused on new accounts. Identifies and pursues prospects through various lead generating activities, including tradeshow attendance and cold-calling.
  • Leads growth of UL clientele by meeting with prospects to identify and qualify business needs including understanding decision makers, delivery timeframe, budget status, challenge and pain points and competition status.
  • Leads development of sales presentations and presents to potential new clients following a disciplined consultative selling strategy that fully leverages the full portfolio of UL services.
  • Using in-depth UL knowledge, provides value propositions, handles complex objections, prepares quotes or reviews quotes prepared by others, and closes sales by getting prospects’ commitment with little or no supervision.
  • Meets or exceeds assigned sales target on a quarterly basis.
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced staff on effective direct sales skills and sales processes that may include client identification and evaluation.
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

What makes you a great fit:

  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree) in a related discipline plus generally eight years of directly related experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of company policies and sales processes.
  • Requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conduct presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or schedules to senior level management and customers.
  • Has extensive knowledge of company’s products and services.
  • Significant business travel and work outside of the office required.
