    We are looking for a Manager Field Services who will be responsible for UL Field Engineering operations in Middle East, Africa, and Turkey. You will be accountable for development of the market within the scope of Field Engineering services. You will manage an area of field staff in the daily operation of engineering inspection programs. Under minimal supervision, you will independently oversee assigned operations to achieve objectives and operational goals. Finally, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of service to meet customer expectations and are accountable for the growth of the market and efficient and cost effective operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Identifies local market expectations and develops good working relationship with key potential and existing UL clients in the area of Field Engineering services.
    • Works with different parts of UL organization in order to customize relevant Field Services to local market needs (inspections, field evaluations, fire prevention services).
    • Develops and maintains an ongoing knowledge of the client base within assigned area to meet customer expectations and identify areas of expansion.
    • Works with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) for greater acceptance of UL inspection/certification services.
    • Develops, implements and manages tactical plans and budgets to achieve assigned objectives. Assures services are delivered in a technically competent and cost effective manner.
    • Responsible for ensuring that all inspection and audit activities within assigned region are carried out in accordance with planned processes and/or documented procedures. Maintains proper staffing levels within region by monitoring workload demands and available resources.
    • Assures customer satisfaction by addressing any customer complaints or concerns regarding activities conducted within assigned region.
    • Communicates and meets with clients to discuss technical issues related to factory visits or to discuss UL policies, procedures and requirements related to factory visits and the control of the UL Mark.
    • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job. Applies organizational policies and assures adherence to departmental procedures.
    • Manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.
    • May manage the qualification, selection and continuous relationship of subcontract Field Service professional services.
    • Performs other duties as directed.

    Qualifications

    • University education in applied science plus some University education in business management plus minimum 10 years of related work experience.
    • Documented experience in market development and key clients management.
    • Documented experience in operational management.
    • Knowledge of fire prevention inspection/evaluation services and related local markets greatly desired.
    • Knowledge of third party certification inspection processes.
    • Eligible to work in UAE and ability to travel to all countries within the covered region.
    • Spoken and written English language proficiency.
    • Arabic language proficiency greatly desired.
