    RF Test Engineer  – Basingstoke

    We are seeking an experienced RF Test Engineer who will be responsible for evaluating, explaining, and completing customer test reports for cutting edge, diverse samples relating to Wireless technologies.






    1. Follows complex defined test plans and datasheets with necessary supervision/support. Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results.
    2. Communicates project status and results as needed. Manages the compilation of draft reports in terms of recording test results and accuracy of information. Works to agreed deadlines, and managing project related activities.
    3. Examines complex customer samples with help and learns to operate appropriate tests for each case. Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
    4. Understands specific test standards and product technology for scope of responsibility.
    5. Directs, builds and/or adapts simple test setups and equipment for assigned work, based on test plans and instructions from engineering.
    6. Operates and maintains complex test equipment appropriately to measure and test customer samples. Performs complex maintenance on designated test equipment and laboratory area. May perform complex calibration of test equipment
    7. Integrates basic continuous improvement concepts and techniques for both process and equipment. Communicates with management and technical staff to provide suggestions for new equipment, processes, and forms to improve accuracy and efficiencies.


    • Educated to Degree/HNC/HND level (or equivalent) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or science with a leaning toward RF technologies. ISO 9000/ISO 17025 desirable.



    • Experience of using RF test equipment such as Spectrum/network Analyser, Signal generator, RF Power and cellular test equipment. Exposure to automated test environments is also desirable
    • Sound knowledge of EU, FCC & ISED Regulatory requirements – Sound knowledge of the following ETSI, FCC & ISED Standards – EN300 328, EN301 893, EN300 440, EN300 113, EN303 413, Part 15.24 and Part 15.407 
    • A solid understanding of analogue and digital communications technologies. Knowledge of associated networks and protocols would also be desirable 
    • A keen interest/experience working in a consumer compliance test environment 
    • Work ethic - self-motivated, enthusiastic, with an attention to detail and a willingness to learn 
    • Hard working, accepting of change and an ability to meet tight deadlines. Willingness to work additional hours if required 
    • Good command of the English language with above average communication and written skills 
    • IT skills - good understanding of using IT systems such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook 
    • Ability to work independently or as a team, with an ability to take a lead role if required. Share knowledge, experience and insight freely with other team members 
    • Conscientious with good customer/interpersonal skills, coupled with a good commercial awareness 
    • Organisation skills - Systematic approach to work, with appropriate documentation of tests results and observations as required.




    • Experience gained in performing RF accredited testing on a large variety of Wireless technologies, such as WLAN 802.11, Bluetooth, Cellular (GSM / W-CDMA / LTE)
