    UL is currently seeking a Project Coordinator - Standards Specialist in Ottawa, CA, to join our growing team!  


    In this role, you will be responsible for performing as the Standards Technical Panel project manager and complete all related duties for Panels that are politically-sensitive, high-profile, and/or significant to UL or ULC Standards business needs. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in Project Management,  proven ability to multi-task, have excellent written and verbal communication, is well-organized, and able to work with a sense of urgency.  


    As a Project Coordinator - Standards Specialist, you will also coordinate delivery of unique standards products and services to customers. When assigned, fulfills the duties of Task Group or STP Chair. Demonstrated ability to actively serve on and contribute to internal and /or cross-functional teams. Positively represents the department on external activitiy.


    Additionally, you will be responsible for:

    • Demonstrates quality, timeliness, reliability, consistency, flexibility, and accountability for all assigned tasks.
    • Applies project management practices and techniques and takes project ownership in the development and maintenance of standards requirements and oversight of deliverables.
    • Demonstrates proficiencies in business applications (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations).
    • Develops and demonstrates expertise and knowledge of accreditation, operational, and internal business requirements. Ensures compliance with accreditation and internal business requirements.
    • Develops and implements strategies to effectively engage stakeholders, recruit new stakeholders, and manage stakeholder relations.
    • Expands understanding and actively participates in the program management associated with assigned standards.
    • Provides recommendations to Program Managers related to assigned portfolio of standards.
    • Makes independent decisions based on knowledge and available information, as appropriate.
    • Performs other duties, as directed.


    • University degree, equivalent to a Bachelors in a Science or Technical discipline, plus four years of directly related experience.
    • Ability to log and track projects and provide status reports.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality documents.
    • Ability to lead others and provide training on a process as necessary.
    • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in all phases of a project.
