    The successful candidate is the custodian of the UL brand in the Middle East and North African [MENA] region and will lead all corporate communication and business marketing efforts for UL.  They will develop and implement a regional marketing strategy aligned to the regional business priorities; manage the entire marketing communications portfolio, including strategy development and planning, budget management, managing metrics and reporting.

    They will achieve marketing synergies by implementing Corporate Marketing processes, tools and guidelines in close collaboration with regional Business Unit stakeholders. They will also provide marketing advice and guidance to the organization to ensure overall marketing effectiveness and drive efforts to position UL as the visionary leader and trusted partner with its current and prospective customers.

    This role has accountability for leading and coordinating all lead generation and marketing efforts in the MENA region. The ability to work autonomously and independently is critical as the direct reporting manager will be based remotely. It will be essential that the successful candidate can work effectively in a matrix organization. They must be fluent in both Arabic and English, French is also a preferred language, with the ability to implement marketing activities and conduct professional conversations in these languages.

    The Marketing Manager, MENA, will report to the International Marketing Director with a dotted line to the Regional VP & GM. They will work closely with the regional business leaders, sales, business development and technical staff.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops and executes the annual marketing plan and the strategies, tactics and resources necessary [including identification of insights, selection of the most effective vehicles, budget management and research/metrics] to achieve goals and objectives aligned with the regional business priorities
    • To spearhead all lead generation campaigns and activities within the region and ensure that all campaigns deployed meet sales and new customer acquisition targets on a monthly basis and to ensure that there is a healthy pipeline of both leads and prospects [new potential customers]
    • Monitor and report on the ROI and effectiveness of campaigns; recommending and implementing changes where necessary
    • Oversees day-to-day relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners to drive regional marketing campaigns and plans, with a focus on key deliverables and successful outcomes
    • Responsible for cross-BU / ‘One UL’ tradeshows and events across the region, with a focus on profile raising, thought leadership and demand generation
    • Educates team on new social media tools (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and effectively leverages them to create a dialogue with the regional target audience
    • Responsible for managing updates and maintenance of local websites and to develop and implement content strategy and calls to action, which are locally relevant in close collaboration with the Corporate Digital Marketing Team
    • Oversees and manages local Corporate social media channels
    • Oversees and manages local PR activities and liaises closely with local PR agency
    • Provides regional brand governance aligned to the global brand guidelines
    • Partners with UL’s Corporate Marketing teams to create interdisciplinary synergies and alignment
    • Performs other duties as directed.

     

    Qualifications

    • Degree holder majoring in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or a related discipline with at least eight years of experience in professional marketing with a proven track record managing successful integrated marketing programs
    • Solid experience in B2B marketing, proven track record of achieving campaign ROI and sales targets by developing and managing extensive new client acquisition, lead generation, nurture and engagement campaigns
    • Strong content marketing experience with a proven ability to identify relevant content and develop multiple marketing calendars in order to build a brand’s profile and execute ongoing lead generation campaigns
    • Knowledge of marketing automation [Marketo, Pardot, Eloqua, HubSpot etc.] and CRM [Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce] platforms is essential
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
    • Proven experience in digital marketing including SEO/SEM campaign execution, website development/maintenance, social media channel management and tactics
    • Dynamic, self-driven and creative individual with a positive, can-do attitude and hands-on approach
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, interpersonal and time-management skills
    • Ideal candidate is someone who possesses the ability to take initiative and drive projects with minimal supervision
    • Culturally sensitive with strong business acumen and is able to work in a matrix environment
    • Bi-lingual in Arabic and English with proven ability to effectively implement marketing activities in those languages
    • Fluency in French would be a bonus.

     

    HIRE-IN

    • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree) in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a related discipline with at least eight years of experience in professional marketing with program managing marketing strategies and advertising campaigns
    • Master’s in Business or Communications is preferred
    • Bi-lingual in Arabic and English, fluency in French is a bonus.
