    We are looking for a Hardware Security Engineer in our team in Singapore. Globally, we have a big team of experts of which you will be part when you join UL Identity Management & Security in Singapore. You will be part of the Security Evaluations Service Line within the IMS Division in UL. The people in this service line are widely spread around the world, which makes your work very international. The team in Singapore exists of about 30 + people with whom you will corporate very closely. The UL Singapore office exists of about 140 people in total.

     

    Responsibilities

    The Hardware security engineer will;

    • Perform security evaluation attacks on smart cards or embedded systems, the main activity is real product analysis with the aim to highlight the product’s security strengths and weaknesses;
    • Specialize in the realization of innovative physical attacks using laser or electromagnetic techniques
    • Implement sophisticated attacks requiring multiple techniques like vulnerability analysis, and power analysis (SPA and DPA);
    • Work closely with customers to meet their requirements; including producing expertise reports on the findings;
    • Follow-up on the latest technical developments in the physical attacks area, internal R&D developments in hardware (analogue and digital electronics), and software; with the aim to enhance the level of attacks and explore new forms of attacks;

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering with up to three years related experience, preferably with good skills in embedded software;
    • Enjoy working with test equipment, working in a multi-skills environment mixing electronic (digital, analogue), optical, security, mechanical, and IT;
    • A strong interest in and motivation for programming using different languages (C, C++, C#, assembly) is a plus;
    • A self-motivated team player who is able to work independently and has entrepreneurial skills
    • Willing to learn (about) new skills and technologies
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience in hardware development or in a laboratory environment is a plus;
