    The Regional General Manager leads, plans and directs the regional operational, sales and business development activities for UL’s Appliances, HVAC & Lighting business within the specified region (NA, EMEA+LA, APAC). The Regional GM is responsible for achieving revenue and profit commitments, and develops and drives how to accomplish strategic and operational goals. Develops, recommends and implements profitable growth strategies for all product lines, with strong collaboration with Industry Leaders in Lighting and Appliances/HVAC. Responsible for preparation and finalization of regional budgets, financial commitments and forecasts. Provide leadership and guidance to all AHL employees in the region to ensure a high level of customer and employee satisfaction and engagement, and empower profitable business performance. Represents AHL as a senior leader with clients, external stakeholders, and cross-UL colleagues. Works across BU, Division and region to ensure profitable growth. Reports to the VP & GM Appliances, HVAC and Lighting

    Reporting to the Regional GM, AHL are:

    • Regional AHL Sales Management
    • Regional AHL Operations Management
    • Regional AHL Business Development


    • Accountable for financial and business performance in the region, including achievement of financial commitments. Responsible for P&L for all services in region, including both Point of Customer and Point of Work perspectives.
    • Manages the performance and effectiveness of the regional team by defining accountabilities and performance measures. Ensures strong cross-functional collaboration, and high performance as an integrated team. Provides on-going coaching, feedback, and guidance. Ensures all policies are understood and adhered to.
    • Ensures effective client and customer relationships. Represents the AHL business with major customers, suppliers, competitors, government agencies, accreditation bodies and similar groups. Assures that customer expectations are met.
    • Develops, reviews, updates and implements business strategic plans, including sales, financial performance and new service development. Develops objectives to achieve business growth consistent with the strategy and initiatives.
    • Embraces business excellence in end-to-end processes, in close coordination with Business Excellence leader, ensuring consistent use of common processes and tools, and enabling a continuous improvement culture.
    • Ensures collaboration with cross-regional colleagues to enable Point of Customer/ Point of Work coordination of global client service, and seamless support of fulfillment for non-regional clients when required.
    • Establishes, forecasts and facilitates the preparation of plans, budgets, metrics and resources to achieve results through effective financial management. Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives
    • Reviews and approves preparation of analysis for budgetary planning and implementation, production efficiency, financial reporting, budgetary planning and submittal for capital expenditures
    • Coordinates sales activities across the region, ensuring sales managers and sales employees are focused and knowledgeable about AHL strategy, priorities, marketing programs and lead generation efforts
    • Develops, communicates and manages the roll-out of AHL order and Sales revenue goals, as well as drives AHL orders performance and sales team orders results, working closely with Industry Leadership and Business Excellence Lead
    • Leads collaboration efforts with business development, sales and operations to ensure new service development initiatives and action plans are seamlessly executed
    • Engages and motivates all AHL regional employees with a common Vision, sense of purpose, and shared objectives for UL.
    • Supports UL culture change to serve customers globally with innovation, speed, quality and financial success; at the same time preserve positive workforce qualities of dedicated service to UL's public safety mission.
    • Builds a strong and capable management team, including developing bench strength for long term succession planning focusing on the internal development of high potential employees wherever possible.
    • Participates in formulating and administering company policies, directing and coordinating regional department activities to develop and implement long range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives


    • Successful, well‑rounded executive with a University degree and typically 10‑plus years of business management experience in dynamic manufacturing and/or engineering sectors from technology-based industries.
    • MBA Preferred
    • Proven P&L management experience and driving sustainable and profitable growth.
    • Strong technical and business/economic foundation, including formal sales and operations strategy and execution plan development
