    Job Function

    As part of the Retail & Industry business unit marketing team, the Email Marketing & Demand Specialist is responsible design, quality assurance (QA), execution, maintenance and reporting for automated marketing programs and email distribution as well as administering Marketo marketing automation platform (MAP). This includes building and maintaining operational data management campaigns and templates, ensuring that CRM integration works as intended, keeping process and other documentation up to date and training marketers to use MAP and campaign templates.


    The specialist supports marketers to execute their campaigns to generate new leads and increase engagement with existing leads. Key activities include interfacing with marketing and sales stakeholders to understand marketing campaign objectives and program strategy to achieve desired results. A key component of this role is awareness and adherence to procedures created by the Corporate Demand Operations team and global anti-spam regulations.


    The role will be based at UL's office in Guangzhou, and will support the Retail & Industry business unit for APAC marketing automation activities.


    The ideal candidate is experienced in supporting a global matrix B2B organization with marketing automation expertise (Marketo) working with Strategic Communications to develop timely, relevant content that aligns with the buyer journey.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Assist in the technical conceptualization of demand creation, nurturing and scoring program strategy
    • Create emails, landing pages, forms and reports within the MAP, including templates for use by others within the marketing function. Program, configure, test, launch and maintain campaigns.
    • Ensure that content provided by Marketers is relevant and high quality. Review and improve where needed to improve the buyer journey.
    • Create nurturing and scoring programs to support the marketing organization
    • Documents MAP processes, programs and procedures
    • Advise marketing colleagues of best practices for structuring and executing campaigns
    • Monitors and reports on effectiveness metrics related to tactics and programs managed by the MAP and related applications; make recommendations on ways to improve
    • Standardizes, cleanses and uploads contact lists into the MAP
    • Trains marketing resources on how to run reports and accomplish basic tasks within the MAP
    • Assists managing integrations with other platforms to ensure seamless flow of information
    • Maintain a communication calendar and ensure we are not introducing email fatigue to our prospects
    • Conduct QA testing including A/B testing with the marketing team to maximize the effectiveness of tools and processes
    • Monitor lead acceleration from Marketo to CRM (Salesforce & Microsoft Dynamics) to ensure complete and accurate data flow
    • Stay abreast of the latest B2B Marketing Automation practices and tactics and recommend optimal automation utilization where appropriate.

    Job Requirements

    • University degree in Marketing/Business Administration or equivalent work experience
    • Proficient in marketing and sales automation platforms preferably Marketo and Salesforce & Microsoft Dynamics
    • Marketo certification desired (at least 5 years Marketo experience)
    • Analytical mindset with aptitude and/or experience analyzing campaigns, data and reports
    • Interpersonal skills: exceptional verbal/written communication, listening, coaching and presentation skills with attention to detail
    • Experience in a B2B professional services environment/ad agency or manufacturer is essential
    • Values innovation and flexibility, is proactive, motivated and a self-starter
    • Strong marketing automation execution and problem-solving and campaign skills
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with high quality, attention to detail and exceptional customer service
    • Experience working in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment
    • Demonstrated ability to interface cross-functionally
    • Excellent writing and editing abilities in additional to oral communication. Proficiency in Chinese and English required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience managing and/or using a wide array of internal communications tools
