    Exciting opportunity for Managing Director-Product Line Leader in Cambridge, UK to lead and direct the global sustainability product line activities for UL EHS Sustainability to achieve profitable growth. The Product Line Leader is responsible for creating the product portfolio vision, setting the strategic direction, collaborating with development to build highly competitive software offerings, and delivering financial returns.   The role will be responsible for the company’s Sustainability offerings and complete product lifecycle: market development, commercialization, product launch, implementation, and support.

    Key growth metrics include: sales, revenue, operational efficiencies, and profitability.

    The role is based on Cambridge UK and reports to EHSS VP & GM.

     

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Ownership and accountability for product line and provide both vision / operational execution.
    • P&L responsibility for product line, including achieving growth objectives, optimizing ROI, margin, and working capital.
    • Establishes current and long range strategic plan, goals, and objectives for the product line based on deep analysis of customer requirements and continuous pulse on market trends.
    • Engage customers and work closely with the Commercial team to win in the marketplace.
    • Oversees the development of product roadmap and portfolio management. Works collaboratively with leadership team to ensure profitable growth strategies for the product line.
    • Plans and coordinates the daily operations, including driving efficiencies, of the product line.
    • Responsible for leading, guiding, directing, and evaluating the work of other leaders across product implement and customer support; builds a strong and capable team, including developing bench strength for long term succession planning.
    • Shapes product line image and brand awareness through collaboration with customers, analysts, advisory panels, and employees.
    • Demonstrate thought leadership and represent organization and product line at industry conferences, speaking engagements, and events.
    • Reviews operating results of the product line, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
    • Blend business and technical concepts into a vision and make it a reality.

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Experience in Sustainability
    • 5+ years of experience in Product Management.
    • 5+ years of experience in leadership role within technology-based organizations.   Experience with off-the-shelve software and associated implementation services a plus.
    • Deep understanding of Product P&Ls and principles
    • Proven track record of success leading teams during sustained periods of rapid business growth
    • Results driven, and ability to hold team accountable for end results setting appropriate milestones along the way to validate progress.
    • Extensive background collaborating across internal business units within an enterprise on consistent product processes, globalization, and annual planning initiatives.
    • Ability to think strategically and conceptually; aptitude for understanding how technology products solutions solve business problems
    • Outstanding motivational and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to inspire an organization to reach superior levels of performance
    • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, etc.
    • Proven success implementing and sustaining Process Improvement programs.
    • University degree / advanced degree strongly preferred.
    • Willingness to travel 25-30%.
